Georgia State Charter School Board Training
Welcome!
BoardOnTrack members can access our library of on-demand training sessions to work towards meeting their board governance training for Georgia.
Please contact info@boardontrack.com if your board will be using BoardOnTrack to complete these trainings.
Topics to complete include:

- Best Practices for Board Governance
- Academic Accountability
- Legal Requirements
Each charter board member is required to complete certification through the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia through Georgia Law, O.C.G.A. § 20-2-2084(f). For additional guidance and requirements, visit the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia (SCSC) HERE.
Based on those instructions, here are a few things to keep in mind once you've chosen to work with BoardOnTrack to help complete your required training hours:
- Review the suggested content topics and ensure your selected training aligns with the SCSC requirements.
- Your required courses can be accessed via pre-recorded webinars that we will add to your Goals and Tasks tracker.
- Contact info@boardontrack.com to request a certificate of completion or if you have any further questions.
As of April 11, 2024, we understand the requirements to be that each member completes 12 hours of training annually. These hours must be completed by broken down by:
- 3 hours minimum of training for Financial Oversight
- 1 hour minimum of each of the following
- Governance Best Practices
- Academic Accountability
- Legal Requirements (including OML Compliance)
- Remaining 4 hours must be covered by the topics above
Once you complete your trainings complete this Form.
Please contact your Board Training coordinator from your board who will reach out to BoardOnTrack to receive certificates of completion. Please note that BoardOnTrack’s trainings alone will not satisfy 100% of your 12-hour training requirements. Please see SCSC’s website for free trainings and information.
