An effective “Trustee Job Description” has three parts.
Part 1. Full Board Responsibilities
Describes when the board is functioning optimally, what are they doing? What are their responsibilities?
Part 2. Individual Trustee Performance Expectations
Describes as individuals, what is each trustee responsible for?
Part 3. Agreement
In signing the “Board Member Agreement,” the trustee acknowledges that the expectations have been made clear and that the trustee agrees to uphold these responsibilities.
See samples of each of these three parts in this section of the resources.
