Your Profile and Your Board's Members Report

In this video, you'll learn how board members can complete your board member Profile in BoardOnTrack -- and why each member's completed profile is so valuable to your board.

What's your member's profile and why is it important?

The member's profile is an incredibly valuable and unique feature. It informs the Members Report, which summarizes your board's skills, demographics, and more.

It allows you to create a three-year board recruitment roadmap, empowering your board to constantly improve by strategically recruiting the right people with the right skills to meet your organization's governance needs.

To complete your profile, first, navigate to your profile page.

In the top right corner of the platform, click the triangle next to your name to reveal the drop-down menu, and then click on My Profile.

Now, fill in or update your profile and adjust your notification settings.

You can add in all of your contact information that other board members or administrators can use to reach you if need be.

You can also adjust your notification settings in your profile, to control which emails you receive from BoardOnTrack.

Click the Skills and Demographic sections to fill out the short questionnaires. This information will be the basis of your board's Members Report and three-year recruiting roadmap.

Once you've completed your profile, take a look at your board's Members Report and three-year recruiting roadmap.

Click Teams in the navigation menu on the left-hand side of the platform and select Members Report.

You have the option to filter the information by year or quarter up here to left.

In this chart, you'll be able to identify any gaps in the board skill sets and find out which members it's including based on the term information by clicking on this information icon.

You can see if your board has sufficient experience, minimal experience or insufficient experience or if not enough members have filled out the survey in just one glance with the legend at the bottom of the chart here:

Below the skills chart is a representation of the data collector for the demographic survey. Again, in one glance you can see a visual breakdown of your boards, age, gender, and ethnicity with legends below each chart.

And, at the bottom of the report, you'll find help putting this data into action with a link to the recruiting resources in the BoardOnTrack Resources library.

We absolutely recommend taking advantage of this amazing tool.

Help is always available, should you need it.
